The Book of Mormon - the best book
Hey everyone! So when I got the call to train a new missionary I was pretty nervous and excited because I didn't know what to expect, but I was ready for the opportunity. So my trainee's name is Elder Baum and he is a very fun elder to be able to work with and start him off on his mission. I have loved training so far because it has helped me to see how far I have come and how much I have grown in the gospel. Now I have this opportunity to be able to share all my experiences and things I have learned with Elder Baum and help him learn and grow even more. He is a very hardworking and excited missionary and has the desire to share what we know with everyone. Plus, Binghampton is one of the best areas to start off in.
Since Elder Baum has been here we got put on a car share with the Johnson City Elders, so that means we only get the car for half the week Wed.-Sun. I have enjoyed this because it means we get to walk around a lot and talk to anyone and everyone we see walking. I can tell this is helping Elder Baum out a lot because the MTC doesn't teach you how to just walk up to a stranger and start talking with them and share a message. So, I love being able to help him get more comfortable with doing this. This week though we picked up about 5 new investigators and put one on date. His name is Wintfred. He is a really kind guy, but he has a hard time staying focused, but we have been doing a good job with asking a lot of questions so he stays involved and interested. We also did some tracting and picked up this other investigator named Jania and we taught her the full restoration and she loved it and we didn't even have to ask her to come back she asked if we could come back and talk about more with her, so that was super cool!
Also, this week we helped two members move. I love helping people move. It's a good workout plus you just feel awesome after from helping them. I guess I take after Dad lol. On one of the moves I helped move these two big ol couches up 3 stories in this tight apartment. It wasn't as fun, but we made it work.
The Book of Mormon changes lives. This book has brought me so close to my Savior and has helped me understand what I need to do in this life. I love having the knowledge of the restored gospel. I am so blessed to be able to share this with the wonderful people of upstate New York.
