Beautiful view from a lady's porch
Hey everyone! So this week was pretty slow and we didn't get to teach our solid investigators because Mike who has the baptism date was out of town for work and Bill just didn't answer his door. We found this one super cool investigator named Alexis. She was in a severe car accident and lost the ability to use her right arm. She said to us "at least I'm left handed" lol. She has such an uplifting spirit and positive attitude. She said she noticed that God was protecting her when she got in the accident. We had the chance to teach her the Restoration and she enjoyed it and said she would love to read the Book of Mormon. We get to see her again tonight to see what she thought.
So some pretty exciting/sad news is that I am getting transferred. I will be leaving Elder Deka and heading to Binghamton with Elder Neddo. It's a walk area and a lot bigger than Lake Placid, which I am pretty excited about. At the same time though I am sad to leave Elder Deka. He has taught me so much these past two transfers. Also I'm sad to leave the great people here in Lake Placid! Since the branch is so small I got to know each of them super well and I'm going to miss be able to see them each Sunday. I am excited to be able to have some change though in a bigger place where talking to people will never be a problem. This past Sunday during sacrament meeting President Evans had me bear my testimony. I used to be afraid of standing in front of people and just talking but absolutely love it now. I love being able to share with people what I know to be true. Well, before I go I'd like to share my brief testimony.
I know that Jesus truly is our savior and that he loves and cares about every single one of us. He wants what's best for each of you, but it's up to ourselves to not only accept him but to follow him in all ways possible. There is a quote by President Thomas S. Monson in his talk "Be Thou an Example" he says, "Fill your mind with truth, fill your heart with love, fill your life with service." I have been trying to keep these three things in my mind everyday. I have personally noticed the impact it has and I know they are great things we can all focus on and improve. I love this gospel and the opportunity I have to serve him fully.
Well I've got to go, but I love all of you and I hope you had a great week! Talk to you next week!
