Out and about
Hey everyone! This week went really good and I had some cool experiences. So, we were able to see Mike and we taught him the Gospel of Jesus Christ and we set him with a baptism date for September 17, and he has been keeping his commitments and has a strong desire to learn and be baptized. It was such a good lesson and it was Elder Baum's first person he has invited to be baptized and he said yes, so it was a very good lesson. One of our biggest trials right now is finding our investigators a ride to church. A lot of the people we teach do not have a car, so getting them to church can be difficult.
I also went on exchange this week and went with Elder Ounesavath. We had some really spiritual lessons with people in Johnson City. We were also able to meet this one girl named Shanya. She is 17 and she just got back from Idaho about 2 weeks ago. She was staying with her grandma in Idaho who is actually a member. She ran into missionaries there and she said she loved our church. When she got back she got our number and called us so we met up with her and taught her the Plan of Salvation and it was one of the best lessons I have ever been able to be a part of. When we got to the end we started talking about how the spirit feels and she said that she gets "a warm fuzzy feeling and I can't stop smiling." We then asked her how she felt as we had been talking to her and she said she felt it the whole time! The spirit was so powerful in that lesson!
I want to end off by sharing this one scripture in Doctrine & Covenants 6:36 "Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not." This scripture has given me a lot of hope and just strength on my mission. A lot of the things that I have done out here are kind of new to me, but I know that it doesn't matter. The Lord is there and He always is helping us. I have felt his strength and power. I know He loves us. Remember this scripture next time you do something scary or you are nervous about something. It will bring you peace. I love you all and hope you had a great week!
